Why We Care
Instead of emphasizing our advanced degrees, accolades, certifications, accomplishments, and years of professional success, we want to tell you why we care. We believe a key element that has lead to our cumulative success has been genuinely caring for the other. Truly loving – which is willing the good of the other – is central to who are as individual people. Willing someone’s good is not ruminating on the past or reinforcing toxic guilt or shame. Quite the contrary. To help each other become the best version of themselves, it takes everyone journeying on a similar path together. Setting our sights on a better tomorrow and going after it. We have been on that journey for some time now. We are not perfect. Relationship failures, professional set backs, physical fitness and health struggles, emotional dysregulation, mental blocks, and spiritual dryness… we’ve fought those same battles and often still do. Bottomline, we care, because we get it. Life can be difficult and we are not meant to silently suffer. We are meant to be in community and lift each other up. We work each day to be the best version of ourselves and it brings us joy to journey along side others as they aspire to be their best self. While we feel good about our professional accomplishments, we are genuinely grateful to be in your corner to support you in your next accomplishment.

Meet the Founder
Latisha Sternod, MS, LMHC
Founder & Clinical Director

Latisha founded Narrows Counseling & Wellness on the key teachings of Jesus to love your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:37,39; John 13:34-35) and every human person possesses an equal God-given dignity (Genesis 1:26; Deuteronomy 10:17-19; Psalms 139:13-16). Latisha currently offers and oversees healing services that integrate psychological principles and spiritual truths from the Christian tradition. As a survivor of childhood trauma herself, Latisha knows firsthand the central role God plays in gently offering and facilitating healing to those who seek it.
It is important to Latisha that each person who participates in services takes the lead role of how they want to incorporate their spiritual and/or religious practices in their healing journey when working with their team.
